THE FILIPINO COMMUNITY IN GUANGDONG

The Philippine Consulate General estimates the number of Filipinos living and working in Guangdong Province to be around 500. It is currently undergoing a registration campaign for all Filipino nationals. Based on a sampling of 109 respondents, the profile of the Filipino Community in Guangdong Province is as follows:
A sampling of the multinational companies where the Filipinos work in different parts of Guangdong Province include San Miguel Corp., Procter and Gamble, Adidas, Reebok, Puma, K-Swiss, Hi-Tech, L.A. Gear, Totes, American Standard, Great China Ceramics, Ltd., Nestle Int'l., Peggy Foods, Secure (Panyu) Packaging Co., Kellogs, Wrigley Int'l., Guangzhou Sunny Foods, Industrial Co., Nansha Golf Club, The Kaifa Group, Christmas Trim, Jet Fashion International, Ltd.,China Ltd., Holbrook Ltd. Luxfull Int'l. Ltd. (sports footwear), TDK, Oriental AutoTech Service Center, Denso Kogyo Ltd., Reckitt & Colman, and various hotels where Filipino bands perform.
