B.1 Requirements for a Student's Visa (18 years old and above and a graduate of secondary or high school)
- The foreign student, while in his home country, communicates and applies directly with the Philippine school of his choice by submitting the documents authenticated by the Philippine Consulate General, to include the following:
- Personal History Statement;
- Transcript of Records signed by the registrar and stamped with the school seal ;
- Affidavit of Support to cover expenses incidental to his studies;
- Photo-copy of passport where personal details appear; and
- Birth Certificate ;
- The school, having been satisfied that the academic requirements are complied with, issues a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and forwards it to the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS together with the authenticated documents submitted by the student and the school's request for evaluation of the transcript of records;
- DECS evaluates the student's records for issuance of a Certificate of Eligibility for admission (CEA);
- Upon compliance with all requirements, DECS endorses the application to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DECS) for the issuance of a student visa;
- DFA authorizes the Philippine Consulate General to issue the visa to the student applicant;
- The Consulate General notifies the student applicant, who will then submit the following requirements:
- Notice of Acceptance by the Philippine School
- visa application (Form No. 2)
- Medical Certificate (Form No. 11)
- life-size chest x-ray film
- hospital laboratory report
- police clearance
- airline ticket
- Visa fee is RMB2,000.00;
- The Consulate General notifies the DFA of the issuance of visa; the latter, in turn, notifies DECS; and
- Upon arrival in the Philippines, the student shall report immediately to the accepting school which shall assist him to obtain the Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) and Certificate of residence for Temporary Students (CRTS) from the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation.
